IND Pastorale
IND Pastorale
Screenprint, Printed by the artist "IND Pastorale" 1979, Limited Edition of 200 Signed, Dated and Numbered
An elevated station landscape of juxtaposed urban elements - simplified, and cleansed of human reference.
The twelve silkscreen editions produced by Saul Chase between 1976 and 1981 were among the most highly regarded prints of the 70s and 80s. Important galleries including Pace Editions, Barbara Gladstone and Andrew Crispo sold literally hundreds of prints, with some editions sold out within a year. The screenprint “Goya” was a “Print of the Decade” selection in “Art News” in 1980, and major museums including the Met, the Brooklyn, the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the Cleveland Museum of Art, and the Hirshorn have acquired prints for their permanent collections.
